How insulation and modernisation of apartment buildings change costs, quality of life and the risk of displacing residents.
STENEO explores the social impacts of the transition to sustainable energy in the Ostrava Metropolitan Area from energy poverty and housing to residents' attitudes and adaptation.
The aim of the STENEO project (The Social Dimension of New Energy Technologies in the Ostrava Metropolitan Area), run by the University of Ostrava, is to strengthen the region's resilience and readiness for the energy transition. Researchers will map the situation in a region with a high incidence of energy poverty and a strong dependence on coal, and propose solutions that include the most vulnerable groups of residents.
Four interdisciplinary teams explore the energy transition from various angles – from housing and energy poverty to education and residents' adaptation.
